Mazikien is womenswear made in Mumbai on our own terms: our own fabric, our own patterns, our own workshop. Nothing launches until it is right.
A trend is a starting point, not a deadline. We take a silhouette and cut it, fit it, wash it and recut it until the fabric and the shape both hold. Only then does it earn a place in the collection.
We developed our own cloth.
Khadi, India's hand-spun and handwoven cotton, has a texture no mill can copy. It is also difficult: it creases, and it resists a fitted western cut.
So we worked on it until it behaved. Our signature cotton and khadi blend keeps khadi's hand and breathability, with more strength and far fewer wrinkles. It sits beside our first fabric, a custom cotton and linen blend.
Tested until it stops surprising us.
Every fabric is tested rigorously before we approve it. Every silhouette is sampled, worn and corrected before it is released. What does not pass does not launch, however well it might have sold.
Fit is an engineering problem.
Each pattern is drafted for the Indian body and graded across ten sizes, 0 to 18, with custom sizing on every piece. If you fall between sizes or outside the chart, we cut it to your measurements.
Built to survive the wash.
A dress that lasts costs more to make. It takes a more premium fabric, and more hours at the machine using stitching techniques that do not open up after a few washes.
We put in those hours in our own workshop, where every Mazikien piece is cut and sewn.
Designed by women who wear them.
Mazikien was founded by Tanvi Dumbre Rastogi in 2020, and every piece is designed by women, for women. So the practical details are never an afterthought.

Sustainability, decided at the source.
It is not a collection or a campaign for us. It is a set of decisions we make before a dress is ever cut.
Sourced in India
We source all our raw materials from India. The cloth travels less before it becomes a dress, and the work stays with Indian growers, spinners and weavers.
Natural fibres first
Our core fabrics are cotton, khadi and linen: breathable, long-wearing fibres that suit the Indian climate.
Less dye, fewer chemicals
If a shade needs excessive dyeing or chemistry to get right, we retire it, even when it is selling well.
Made under one roof
Every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Thane, Mumbai, so we see every step and answer for it.
Built to be worn again
The most sustainable dress is the one you keep wearing. Better fabric and stronger seams are how we get there.

Garment making is skilled, labour-intensive work, and we treat it that way. Everyone on our team is paid fairly and works reasonable hours.
